Melisa and I were at Starbucks last week in Ft. Collins, and we saw the Radiohead album on the music rack. We didn't have their latest CD, "Rainbows in Rainbows", so we grabbed it. I cracked it open tonite and listened to it on the way home, and was pretty disappointed. Radiohead has forgotten how to be melodic. I mean, there are some seriously cool moments on the record, but it's not something I can rock out to. It's more like background music, or a soundtrack for some movie or the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy.
One thing I really like: The drums. Wow, they captured some really great drum sounds on this record. I'm not someone who really is easily distracted from listening to guitars, but the drums are ear candy on this album.
I just have to admit, that I think I'm more in love with "liking Radiohead" than I'm in love with the music they make. Not liking Radiohead is kind of like not liking the Beatles......you don't admit it, even it if is true.

I bought it too, and I am finding it really hard to get into. I think background music really describes it well.
